SEPTEMBER 16, 2008 -9/10/08 article: On probation as a sex offender, the SEIU Local 1000 District Labor Council 784 President was arrested on September 10, 2008 for possession of child porn and violating his probation. Some SEIU members, to their credit, have called for his expulsion from office and expulsion from the local. We hope that this is done promptly.

One must question the selection criteria for SEIU leadership since we have all read of the recent resignation of Tyrone Freeman, Annelle Grajeda, and Rickman Jackson on corruption charges, and now we read of a sex offender on probation. All four were in the position of President at various levels in SEIU and most were appointed by the SEIU International. Where is the background check? Where is the accountability of those who appointed them?
