AUGUST 13, 2008 - EAA has received complaints today from angry EAA members who were accosted, by SEIU-Butcher and one of her organizing scalp hunters, on their way to City Hall East. Even after telling SEIU-Butcher that they were not interested in her propaganda, SEIU-Butcher would not take no for an answer and continued to browbeat them. To those of you who have been in EAA since 2002, this shouldn’t come as a complete surprise. Back then, SEIU-Butcher and her cronies hounded EAA members mercilessly, even invading our members’ privacy at home.
This morning the scalp hunters have been approaching EAA members, uninvited, at their workspaces, trying to induce them into becoming involved in the SEIU raid.
Accosting you in the workplace, hounding you on your telephone with calls from a boiler room, and spewing tons of spam on to your computer…they think by being obnoxious they can have their way with you. EAA’s Board of Governors and Staff have not and will not engage in these tactics. Not only do we respect your right to privacy and peace, but more importantly, we respect your intelligence and know that you can make decisions for yourself and will recognize the SEIU strong arm tactics as the desperate acts of a union in trouble.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS! You are not required to talk to these people. Signing anything they put before you may be signing away your rights as an EAA member. Should you have any problems with their behavior, document who was involved, the time and place, use your camera phone, and get in touch with your EAA Labor Representative because EAA’s legal counsel is compiling this information on your behalf.
