Labor Representative Richard C. Sanchez

Richard C. Sanchez began representing EAA members on December 22, 2008. He came to work for EAA after a long career with the City of Los Angeles and a year+ of full retirement. Richard enjoys meeting the members at the departments he represents. He pledges to continue his hard work to ensure that EAA members are granted their full rights under the Civil Service system and that managements adheres to all provisions of the EAA MOUs.
As a City employee, Richard was active with various labor organizations, including six years on the Board of MCIA and four years as Vice President of LAPMA. He represented members in grievances and served on the negotiating committees for both unions. He also served on the management side in other negotiations and thus brings a unique perspective of City labor relations to EAA.
Recipient of both a BS and a MS in Construction Management from CalState Los Angeles, Richard spent 38 years with the Department of Building and Safety at every level of inspection from Assistant to Chief Inspector. He worked in both Code Enforcement and Commercial construction inspection. He concluded his career as an Assistant Deputy Superintendent of Building II for the Department.
Richard also served his country for 20 years in the Marine Corps Reserve and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. He enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and grandsons and finds time for a few rounds of golf.
Richard encourages each of you to take your rights and responsibilities seriously, under Civil Service, your MOU, and your EAA membership. Those who are employed in the departments to which he is assigned can feel free to contact him at any time with your questions or workplace issues.
