EAA Union

Governor Frank Giles

Frank Giles is an at-large Governor in EAA and serves on the Scholarship Committee and Union Stewards & Membership Committee.  Frank is a Forensic Print Specialist III at the LAPD and is covered by MOU 21.  Frank has been active in EAA for some time, most recently as a Union Steward.  As a former Steward, Frank continues to attend the Stewards meetings to aid in improving the knowledge and effectiveness of that important group of volunteers.  Earlier in his working career, Frank was a member of the United Steel Workers for five years.

Frank’s fervent desire to be a guardian and protector of workers’ rights drives his union involvement.

On a personal note, Frank is the father of two grown children and enjoys a variety of leisure activities. An avid rider of motorcycles, he also enjoys cruising with the convertible top lowered.  He is a fan of good music from every genre:  pop to classical, country to rock, easy listening to everything else.

Frank reminds every EAA member that the members are the union.  Along with the benefits of union membership come the responsibilities.  The responsibility to become informed, to take advantage of the two-way street of communications by discussing issues with your elected representatives or union staff, not just to obtain information, but to provide honest feedback and ideas to help them in performing their duties and assuring continuous improvement in your union.  Union members should support their union as demonstrated support increases the strength and enhances the negotiating position.  Frank welcomes your input and deeper involvement in your union, including volunteering as a Union Steward or running for elected office.
