Governor and Treasurer Aida Tomines

Aida Tomines is your Governor for the Supervisory Administrative Unit, MOU 20. She is a Senior Accountant in the Controller’s Office and has worked for the City for 18 years. As a true believer in the strength that comes from the united efforts of union members, she is one of the strongest fighters for the rights, benefits, and wages for EAA members. She is active on the Executive Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Scholarship Committee. Among her other accomplishments, Aida is a licensed CPA and an attorney.

Her strength was amply demonstrated during our job actions when she joined her union brothers and sisters on the picket line while simultaneously battling cancer. Through determination and hard work, she is on the winning side in both battles.

She has learned through the years that management never gives employees anything, neither benefits nor salary, merely because they ask for it or because they deserve it. Employees must fight for everything and an effective union like EAA is the only sure way to achieve meaningful results.

Aida enjoys negotiating as it gives the opportunity to open normally closed lines of communication with the City. The best part is when a solution is found for an issue, large or small. The satisfaction of bringing results back to the members is indescribable.

Aida wants all EAA members to get involved in their union and learn about the Union, the MOUs, and the negotiating process. Whether it be through holding elected office, volunteering as a Union Steward in the workplace, or participating in and supporting EAA’s actions, the strength gained from true unity brings success. Together we can make a difference!
