EAA Uses Union Printers, SEIU 721 and United for LA Do Not

SEPTEMBER 11,2008 - Union printers put the union "bug" on every piece of literature printed at a unionized print shop. This is the familiar "Union Label" of the International Allied Printing Trades Council. You will find that label on every piece of EAA literature that is sent to its members. This is in keeping with the accepted good union practice of patronizing unionized businesses for all aspects of union operations. This ensures the work is produced with the quality, skill, experience, and pride of unionized workers and that the employer entered into a union contract with its workers to ensure fair and equitable wages and benefits through the collective bargaining process.

The literature being sent to EAA members by SEIU 721 and its supporters lacks the "Union Label" logo and is therefore printed at a sub-standard non-union shop. Is this any way for a union to act? Particularly a union that claims an advantage to joining with other unions? Where is the joining? This is the height of hypocrisy, but no surprise.

EAA continues to work with and support unions that are dedicated to union solidarity instead of divisive raiding tactics. EAA respects its members' privacy and personal integrity by being courteous and respectful when providing literature or information, answering questions when asked, not harassing members in the workplace, and never visiting members at their homes unless invited. If anyone happens to claim otherwise about EAA representatives, those persons are quite simply liars in the first degree.
