EAA Gets Thousands in Unpaid Mileage for Finance Employees
Wednesday, Feb 25, 2009Finance representatives met with EAA in October 2008 to discuss the issue and agreed to conduct an audit of all EAA employee mileage statements from February 1, 2007 to the audit date. EAA agreed to postpone any further action on the UERP until the audit was completed.
This month, the results were made final and Finance reimbursed 63 employees for additional amounts owed due to the incorrect calculations. Their letter dated February 12, 2009 indicates their compliance and requests EAA to withdraw the UERP. EAA will do so. We appreciate the cooperation shown by the Office of Finance in resolving the issue.
EAA thanks the member who came forward to identify the problem. This demonstrates the essential role that individual members can play in assuring their rights are protected. 63 members benefitted due to the actions of one person. Timely and effective representation by EAA Labor Representative Ben Pezzillo assured that a positive outcome was achieved. We encourage members who believe their MOU rights are being violated to contact their EAA Labor Representative. Your representative will discuss the issue in detail, investigate it thoroughly, and follow through until final resolution.
