DWP WAGE PARITY DECISION BY ERB APPLIES ONLY TO EAA AND THE CITY
Friday, Apr 03, 2009
The results of Unfair Employee Relations Practices (UERP) apply only to the parties who are part of the UERP filing and decision. In addition, for many years, SEIU. among others, has stated they have no interest in pursuing parity negotiations.
It is quite apparent that this is one of the main reasons that City management like to be rid of EAA. The City would be under no obligation whatsoever to even consider any negotiations on parity and would not need to involve DWP in addressing any extra costs involved.
EAA has once again offered to sit down and negotiate with the City on the issue of parity. Please see the letter from Robert G. Aquino, your Executive Director, to Tom Coultas, the Assistant City Administrative Officer, dated March 27, 2009. We are open to any constructive dialogue with the City in an effort to allow the City to treat its employees fairly.
