Civil Service Commissioner Slams LAPD Over Suspension
Wednesday, Jul 15, 2009Demonstrating the effectiveness of EAA's labor representatives, an article appearing in the Los Angeles Downtown News reports that Civil Service Commissioner John Perez stated "in this case they [LAPD] have not shown any honesty, they have not shown any integrity, and they have not shown any trustworthiness" and added that "their labor relations department would do such an amateurish, cut-and-paste job is mind-boggling".
Missing in the article is the fact that these issues were brought to the light of day by the actions of EAA Labor Representative Ben Pezzillo. He represented the EAA member throughout the process and eventually brought her justice. It is our sincere wish that the LAPD will take these results to heart and treat its civilian employees in a fair and just manner in the future.
Unfortunately the news article is no longer accessible on the Downtown News website.
