City Issues 8 hour/week Furloughs to MCIA and LACAMA
Wednesday, Jan 20, 2010In an inter-departmental memorandum titled IMPLEMENTATION OF FURLOUGHS FOR MOU5 dated January 15, 2010, the CAO instructed Department and Bureau heads in the City to implement eight (8) hours of furlough time per week (16 hours per pay period) for all members of bargaining unit MOU 5 Inspectors, for pay period 16 through 26. MOU 5 is represented by MCIA.
We have received information that the same furloughs have been imposed on bargaining unit MOU 32 Management Attorneys for the same time period, but do not have a copy of the CAO’s memorandum for them. MOU 32 is represented by LACAMA.
Members of EAA, MCIA, and LACAMA are now recipients of unilateral furloughs imposed by the City.
