EAA Disaffiliates from IUPA and Enters Talks to Join AFT

Your Board of Governors is always looking for ways to improve your union.  With ongoing raids occurring by other unions, we need the resources of a large AFL-CIO union presence within California.  The American Federation of Teachers provides those resources.  As you know, they are a major force, not only within California, but throughout the United States.    Therefore, effective August 28th, 2010 we have formally disaffiliated from IUPA and are no longer IUPA Local 8000.  More details are in the full article.

MOU NEGOTIATIONS – NOW AND IN THE FUTURE

The negotiation process for the EAA Tentative Agreement (TA) for 2010-11 MOU’s and the mutually agreed Letters of Intent (LOI) contained therein provide information about the City’s positions during this bargaining period and, by logical extension, during future bargaining periods.  In many ways, the City’s positions mirror those we all read about daily in the various on-line and print media.  We will present and analyze these LOI in detail.
