IMPLEMENTATION OF FY2010-11 CIVILIAN FURLOUGHS

On July 23, 2010, the CAO issued an interdepartmental correspondence to the City Council titled “IMPLEMENTATION OF FY2010-11 CIVILIAN FURLOUGHS”.  This document confirms all correspondence issued previously by the CAO, and, more importantly, confirms all articles EAA has provided to its members.

City Issues Final Furlough Letter

City Administrative Officer Miguel Santana issued a letter dated July 13, 2010 to Michael Davies of EAA.  In the letter, Mr. Santana clarifies the previously issued furlough plans for FY 2010-2011.

Hearing Officer Issues Report in UERP Regarding Furloughs

In a report dated July 1, 2010, hearing officer David W. Stiteler recommended that UERP Claim No. 1768 be denied and dismissed.  EAA and its legal counsel believe this recommendation fails to make either legal or factual sense based on the evidence presented.  The next step is for the Employee Relations Board to rule on the recommendation.  The issue can then be filed in Superior Court.  The full report and recommendation is linked in this article for your information.

City Issues Revised Furlough Plan - -Again

The City has once again revised their furlough guidelines and issued a new memorandum to the heads of all City departments.  Each department must once again submit a revised furlough plan.

In an inter-departmental memorandum dated June 22, 2010, the CAO issued “FISCAL YEAR 2010-11 PROPOSED FURLOUGH PLANS”.  This is a revision to the May 27, 2010 furlough plan memorandum linked on this website.

278 LA City Workers to Receive Layoff Notices Wednesday
