Furloughs Suspended for EAA MOU’s 1, 19, and 20
Thursday, Aug 26, 2010Following through on the City's commitment to EAA in the newly ratified MOU agreements, the Mayor suspended furloughs for all employees in MOU's 1, 19, and 20. They join the employees in MOU 21 whose furloughs were previously suspended.

Wednesday, Aug 18, 2010Thanks to approval today by the City Council, all portions of the Tentative Agreement recently ratified by the members of the Technical Rank and File Bargaining Unit are now part of their new MOU 21 and are fully in effect.
In other news, Miguel Santana issued a memorandum dated August 17, 2010 to Mayor Villaraigosa and Council President Garcetti regarding the Budget Gap and how it is affected by the P3 Parking Structure proposal. Read his memorandum and a short analysis of its potential effect on EAA members.

Wednesday, Aug 18, 2010More public employers are discovering the benefits of modified work shift, more public employees are retiring, and many cities are now under investigation for corruption. Each of these stories has the potential to have an impact on our City. 3:15 PM UPDATE: Today, the California Supreme Court issued a stay on further proceedings in the CA State workers case and the temporary restraing order preventing the furloughs. This means the Governor can furlough State workers as soon as this Friday.

CAO Busy: Letter to EAA, Filing of Impasse, Instructions to Departments
Wednesday, Aug 11, 2010On August 10, 2010, the CAO sent EAA a letter stating the City’s intent to implement a Last, Best, and Final offer on any bargaining unit rejecting the Tentative Agreement, filed a Notice of Impasse with the ERB over lack of progress in Joint Labor-Management Benefits Committee negotiations regarding changes to the health plans, and issued a memorandum encouraging all departments to return members of MOU 21 to the alternate work schedules.
