ADVISORY MESSAGE TO ALL EAA MEMBERS

EAA, since its inception in 1894, has been a white collar, professional union.  On that basis, it is well-known (and assumed) that EAA-represented employees tend to follow state and local news more closely than most people - including other City employees.  This article details the concepts that led to your negotiating team working with the City to achieve the best possible sustainable future for all EAA-represented employees.

IMPLEMENTATION OF FY2010-11 CIVILIAN FURLOUGHS

On July 23, 2010, the CAO issued an interdepartmental correspondence to the City Council titled “IMPLEMENTATION OF FY2010-11 CIVILIAN FURLOUGHS”.  This document confirms all correspondence issued previously by the CAO, and, more importantly, confirms all articles EAA has provided to its members.

Like it or not, financial investors, in particular the money-market funds, have a lot to do with the cost of running the City, through their willingness (or lack thereof) to purchase the various bond issues or through demanding, and receiving, a different interest rate than originally intended.  How have the recent offerings been received?

City Issues Revised Furlough Plan - -Again

The City has once again revised their furlough guidelines and issued a new memorandum to the heads of all City departments.  Each department must once again submit a revised furlough plan.
